Public Mural: Under the highway
Project Brief:
The project aimed to beautify the area under the highway in Cox Town, Bangalore in hopes of reducing the illegal and inappropriate activities that were taking place in the area. As the area (shelter under the highway) was not maintained or taken care of, the location became a dingy and unsafe locality once the lights dimmed down. To reduce these activities, our goal was to create murals on the walls with community engagement to create a sense of responsibility and belonging to the area. This would help people call the area their own and take care of its cleaning and protection. The mural inspirations were taken by doing a study and reiki of the culture and community in and around Cox Town.
